The 15th Annual Park Day took place at over 100 Civil War battlefields and historic sites on April 2, 2011. Fort Fisher was among the seven North Carolina historic sites to participate with volunteers, scouts and Friends members pitching in to clean and beautify the ocean-side historic site. Park Day is sponsored nationally by The Civil War Trust and financially supported by The History Channel. Locally the Friends of Fort Fisher sponsor the event along with site staff, providing materials and supplies, refreshments and lunch for all volunteers. Great job everybody!
